Guidance for New Members
First, if you are a new member, welcome! At Tring Camera Club we are a warm and friendly camera club, all about having fun and learning about creative photography. The next time you come to a club evening at the church hall we very much recommend you simply introduce yourself to another member and get chatting.
This Information Centre is designed to help you get the most out of our camera club. The most important page is the Home Page of the Info Centre https://tdccinfocentre.co.uk where you can see when we are next meeting and whether it is at the Church Hall or on Zoom. Other information on this home page includes details of the next competition, deadlines for future external competitions or other projects and finally, links to access areas of the Info Centre for current competitions and projects.
On the left hand side of the Info Centre is a menu to get you access to all the available information. Feel free to click-around, or continue reading below for a summary of what's in each section of the menu.
Finally at the top of the Info Centre in the cyan bar you'll see some quick links in white. Of these the most useful is "ZOOM" which takes you to the regular zoom setup that we use on those evenings when we are not in the church hall, for example if the speaker is remote.
Our Programme this Season
This is where you can see the Programme for the whole season so you may want to browse it and if you see something you'll particularly enjoy, note it in your diary. We have 8 speakers each season and if you want to see the websites for these speakers, check out the "Speakers" entry. Finally if anyone who presents at a club evening is happy to share their materials, you will find the materials in the "Presentations from Programme" entry. Note that we only show documents for the last year or so.
Competitions
We encourage everyone to join in with our competitions, so this section is designed to tell you everything you need to know.
Resource Centre
This section contains a great deal of useful information so you may just want to work through it and see what is available. There are two sections regarding Adobe Post-Processing software and although there are other packages around that some club members use, the majority do use Adobe.
There is an archive section which is where we present older competitions and projects - this is certainly worth a look for new members.
Our Club
Here is where you find important information about our club. A committee is appointed by members and you can see who these members are in "Your Committee and the Club", as well as other information about the club. Please feel free to approach any committee member at any time with any questions you may have.
We endeavour to take a photo of every member and this is presented on the "Our Members". Any of our members will be more than happy to chat. We also try to note which cameras anyone has so if you want to discuss your camera with another member, click on the link on the page.
The "Member Recommended Workshops" provides notes about workshops that members have taken and who with. Workshops are a great way to learn skills in any genre you might be interested in. If any of these workshops are of interest, feel free to approach that member in the club.
We have many members in our club who have pursued photographic qualifications as a great way to push themselves and improve their photography. The "Photographic Qualifications" page gives more information.
Finally the "Hall of Fame" entry shows the winning photographs for each competition and skill group in the previous season.
TDCC Development programme
Each year the club offers specially designed sessions on Zoom to help people with less experience to learn more about taking good images. These session include: ‘Introduction to TDCC’; ‘Introduction to Photography’; ‘Developing Camera Craft’ and ‘Post Processing’. If you are interested in any of these programmes please contact Peter Cox at: club.president.tdcc@gmail.com
